Summer-flower stone

Source: Abundantly found in glacial areas.

Effect: Doubles Effective Distance of Formula. Leaves a soft glow

Description: This warm, orange flower grows often in the frigid glaciers, the seeds of which are a dull, grey color, the flowers themselves glow softly in the night, meaning they are often used for navigation through the harshest nights of winter



Foetida Fangs
Type: Modifiers  Stability: 2  Element: Earth  Value: 15
Source: Abundantly found in deep caves.
Effect: Doubles Resilience of the user for one minute. Takes the user’s voice for 1 minute.
Description: Lion-like creatures known for their pungent defensive spray. The Foetida constantly regrows its fangs after losing them—often from chewing through stone in search of food. Its spray is powerful enough to make even the most resilient double over and wretch.


Marsh Laurel Leaf
Type: Modifiers  Stability: 2  Element: Water  Value: 18
Source: Abundantly found in marshes.
Effect: Doubles duration of Formula. Prevents user from running for duration.
Description: The Marsh Laurel grows near the bases of trees and solid structures within marshes, creating dense growth that is difficult to traverse. It regrows nearly as fast as it is cleared.


Catkin Gall Stone
Type: Modifiers  Stability: 1  Element: Fire  Value: 15
Source: Abundantly found in arid grass plains.
Effect: Doubles survival effects. Tastes like ash.
Description: Small cat-like moles that create intricate tunnels beneath arid plains. Due to mineral-rich diets, they develop internal stones over time. These can only be harvested surgically—leaving the Catkin unable to burrow—or by killing mature adults.


Trout Root

Source: Abundantly found in mountain streams.
Effect: Increases Water-related effects. Makes palms moist.
Description: Growing in mountain stream beds, this plant mimics the coloration and flowing movement of trout, blending seamlessly with the current.


Noddy Shellberry Bones
Type: Modifiers  Stability: 3  Element: Earth  Value: 25
Source: Abundantly found in arctic areas and mountain tops.
Effect: Doubles removal effects. Causes hiccups for 2 minutes.
Description: A turtle-like creature with a bush-like growth on its back for camouflage in snowy regions. These creatures bury themselves to die, leaving piles of bones marked only by a frozen, dead bush.


Starborn Dust
Type: Modifiers  Stability: 5  Element: Steel  Value: 50
Source: Abundantly found where Shooting Stars touch down.
Effect: Triples effect duration. Reduces Perception by 1.
Description: A soft shimmering powder found coating surfaces near where “Shooting Stars”—the Newly Discarded—have fallen. It can be gently brushed into containers for collection.


Cinderleaf Ash
Type: Modifiers  Stability: 4  Element: Life  Value: 25
Source: Abundantly found in burned areas.
Effect: Doubles Formula strength. Covers user in ash.
Description: Growing from charred remains of other plants, the Cinderleaf ignites itself in defense, reducing to ash instantly. Its pale blue flowers are prized for pigment but difficult to harvest intact.


Titanwood Bark
Type: Modifiers  Stability: 3  Element: Death  Value: 18
Source: Abundantly found in old graveyards.
Effect: Doubles Formula’s physical effects. Makes the user 10% larger.
Description: Trees nourished by graveyard soil grow impossibly large and resilient. Their bark is exceptionally tough and prized in alchemy.


Raven Feather

Source: Abundantly found in areas with ravens.
Effect: Doubles duration of tracking spells.
Description: A large black feather with iridescent blue, green, and purple sheen in sunlight. Distinguished by its size, shaggy appearance, and wedge-shaped flight feathers.


Nightshade Nectar

Source: Abundantly found in midnight forests.
Effect: Increases Perception by 1 in darkness for 1 hour.
Description: Growing only where sunlight never reaches, its deep blue petals blend into darkness. Often only its faint pale center is visible.


Anise’s Hood

Source: Frequently found in fields.
Effect: Doubles healing effects. Causes indigestion.
Description: A common plant resembling a white hood. A symbol of traveling medics due to its healing properties, though notoriously foul-tasting.

Source: Frequently found in jungle soils.
Effect: Doubles Light effects. Attracts undead.
Description: A nearly pure white stone marked by a pale blue vein. Often discovered where undead paw at the ground, drawn to its presence.

Hedge Elderseng Oil

Source: Frequently found in wooded areas.
Effect: Allows Life magic to be used on Undead.
Description: Harvested from shy hedge-dwelling creatures resembling elderly humanoids crossed with small mammals. They build twig beds and hide in thickets.

Duskpetal Pollen

Source: Frequently found in fae woods.
Effect: Doubles stealth effects. Causes sneezing.
Description: Found exclusively in fae woods, this pollen enhances stealth but often causes untimely sneezing—sometimes with deadly consequences.

Lightblossom Nectar

Source: Frequently found in tree tops.
Effect: Nullifies a negative effect.
Description: A vine that glows like a starry sky when viewed at night. Each plant produces only a few drops of nectar.

Embermoss

Source: Frequently found in wetlands.
Effect: Formula effect is doubled. Fire deals additional damage.
Description: A red moss growing in dry patches of wetlands, possibly creating them. Burns exceptionally well and makes coated materials more flammable.

Effect: Removes a negative effect.
Description: A bright cyan stone found in thin, pine-needle-like veins scattered throughout mining sites.

Heart Larkagaric Leaf

Source: Commonly found in deep forests.
Effect: Doubles Resilience. Tastes sour.
Description: A green chambered flower shaped like a human heart, producing rhythmic thumping sounds in the wind. Its deep red center is famously the most sour naturally occurring substance known.

Mistveil Spore

Source: Commonly found in fae woods.
Effect: Spreads the effect of a Formula over an area. Causes mild hallucinations.
Description: A mimic mushroom whose spores induce hallucinations ranging from comforting voices to deadly illusions, often leading victims astray.

Nightwind Crystal

Source: Commonly found on windswept moors.
Effect: Masks the presence of a Formula from Ardor sense. Reduces Perception by 1.
Description: A deep blue crystal with swirling white striations. It never breaks the stone’s surface, requiring excavation to confirm its presence.

Blue Shell Fragment
Type: Modifiers  Stability: 3  Element: Fire  Value: 25
Source: Commonly found in saltwater.
Effect: Delays all Formula effects for one scene. Turns nails and claws blue.
Description: From the massive Blue Shell Crab. Though easy to spot, their claws can snap fishing lines and their meat tastes foul, making them valuable primarily to alchemists.

Wyrmwing Powder
Type: Modifiers  Stability: 2  Element: Fire  Value: 25
Source: Rarely found in rocky areas.
Effect: Doubles healing effects. Requires a Resilience check due to terrible taste.
Description: A small butterfly-like creature resembling a dragon-butterfly hybrid. Lives among rocks and takes to the skies annually in grand mating flights.

Mystic Blossom Nectar
Type: Modifiers  Stability: 2  Element: Air  Value: 30
Source: Rarely found in fae woods.
Effect: Nullifies 2 levels of negative modifier effects.
Description: A faintly glowing plant whose color constantly shifts. Its glow attracts unwanted attention in dangerous woods.

Jester’s Root
Type: Modifiers  Stability: 3  Element: Water  Value: 35
Source: Rarely found in grassland areas.
Effect: Nullifies 3 levels of negative modifier effects.
Description: Nearly indistinguishable from surrounding plants except for a faint bell-like sound and subtly shimmering roots.

Baybark Claw
Type: Modifiers  Stability: 3  Element: Death  Value: 40
Source: Only found in cultivation by Trogs.
Effect: Doubles Strength effects. User’s voice becomes guttural for 15 minutes.
Description: Small shell-backed mammals with powerful claws and no eyes. Docile and affectionate, but cling tightly to stone surfaces when handled.

Ironshard Dust
Type: Modifiers  Stability: 3  Element: Steel  Value: 30
Source: Only found in high iron soil.
Effect: Doubles physical effects of a Formula. User is slowed by a 10 count before entering combat.
Description: A dull grey powder separated from iron-rich soil using magnets, though refining it from dirt is time-consuming.


Dragonfire Resin
Type:

Source: Only found in dragon caves.
Effect: Increases fire effects by a quarter (round up). User takes additional damage from cold sources.
Description: Formed from superheated gases cooling at the edges of dragon flame. Extremely rare and only harvestable where dragons dwell for extended periods.
